Thats odd he said that bc of that. I have dialated a cm every week and thinned out to 80% i am dialated to a 4 now. My dr just says that i could go into labor at any min or in a couple of weeks. And dont worry about not knowing about the water breaking cause u wont be able to get past the contractions that will either be there or soon to come

The doc is basing it on my cervix n how fast I was dilating. I went from completely closed to a 1 the next week to a 2 this past week. N he said some other things about my cervix being good n whatnot. Idk. But thanks for the advise everyone. Eases my mind a bit lol

Sounds wierd but i didnt have a clue my water broke. I was 35 weeks with my 1st son, i thought i was peeing on myself. Went to bed and in the morning the contractions came! My 2nd i was having contractions and they induced me at 36/6 cuz my sons heart dropped. Now im on my 3rd with my bby girl and 32/6 who knows what its gonna be like this time. :-) Good Luck hun.

Did he base this on feeling your cervix? How much are you dilated and effaced? I was a three centimeters and 50% for at least two weeks before giving birth. Most commonly, your water will break when your nearing active labor, after several hours of contractions. And you'll know when the water has broken. It's a gush or a slow constant trickle that you've got no control over, unlike bladder control. You're doing great! Just keep resting as much as possible and let your body do its job - just go with the flow, so to speak.

You'll know if your water breaks. I know its scary, but it'll be a big gush or it will leak constantly for quite some time.
