Getting worried...

Hi ladies, I'm 31 weeks, ftm, and I'm wondering if it's normal to not feel your baby move for extended periods of time? Like I havnt felt my baby move all morning (3-4 hours)  and the past few days he hasn't been moving much at all. I've tried dining cold water, or eating somthing sweet, or poking my belly and I'm not getting anything? Tried laying on my right side and start a kick count and I got maybe one or two kicks. My husband just waves it off like I'm being paranoid, but im getting worried just wondering what you guys think. Thanks ladies <3

Better safe than sorry! I've been dealing with this the past 2 days...more subtle movements & not as much activity, but I'm 35-1/2wks & was told they have less room to move. I'm still feeling some movement, so just waiting until Monday for my appt. Anyways, if you're concerned, at least call the doctor to see what they say. Perhaps continuing with trying to eat/drink something sugary/ &/or with caffeine & lay on your left side. Gl!

I was told that the 10 kicks story is not correct.  every baby is different and will develop his/her own sleep and awake patterns. I had the exact same thing happen a couple weeks ago I went to the hospital and did a NST (non stress test) and he was perfectly fine the nurse said it may have been because he was kicking into the placenta so I wouldn't have felt it. However I agree that it is always best to get checked out if you notice a change in your baby's movements don't worry about being paranoid. I hope all is well :)

Good luck. I'm sure it will be fine, it was with me at 26 weeks. Let us know how you get on.

Go the hospital, all changes in your babies movement needs to be investigated asap, some say you should be able.to.count 10 kicks in one hr, some say 10 kicks in 12yrs. Sugar and caffeine sometimes gets em moving so try that? But if I had felt my baby move over a couple of days, I'd be straight to hospital. It's usually fine, and it's just the baby has moved, could have his back to your front so you're not feeling them, but still, get it checked.
