upcoming c-section: tips?

I'm going in Tuesday (at 39w) to have a c-section.

I want to do everything in my power to help my recovery along. What tips do you have for while I'm in the hospital? What tips for when I'm at home?

Also, I know I am supposed to avoid picking anything up heavier than my new born. What other activities should I avoid and for how long?

I will make sure to get information from the Doctors & Nurses. But I just want to be prepared and have some plans in place with my husband so we can be a little on the prepared side.

Thanks in advance for your advice!

Make sure you're sitting comfortably at home. Whenever possible, don't use too much stomach muscle to stand up.

If you feel a sneeze or cough fit coming grab a pillow and hold it against your stomach. (Not so much to help healing process but for your own comfort.)

Whenever you can, have someone pass you baby or take baby from you before and after you sit down. Sitting down or standing with a baby in your arms is difficult.

Once you're in the your room and settled, let people help you!! It's really hard to sit there and have everyone do everything for you and baby. All you want to do is take care if your baby and tend to forget you just had massive surgery.

To avoid infection make sure you shower daily with a mild soap and stuck to cotton clothing.

I can't think of much else right now. I've had 2 c sections so if you have any other questions feel free to inbox me.
