Hi. I'm 7 weeks almost 8 weeks pregnant. I just called the clinic to see about making a 1st Dr appt and the cost of it as I don't have insurance(can't afford it/my job doesn't offer any) and to my surprise I learn that it's gonna cost $862 monthly to pay for Dr appt. There's no way I can afford this amt. I will try and apply fir Medicaid but I'm unsure of how it works. I just want to be happy this pregnancy. I was last pregnant at 17 yrs old and a high school drop out so I felt ashamed and ridiculed. I don't know what to do or how???

Google Medicaid in your state.. It usually takes 5-11 days to process.

I'm not which state your in but your state should usually help with emergency services for pregnancy for women who do not have insurance. If you qualify for a low cost plan becuase of your income they will help you enroll in that.

Planned parenthood does not offer prenatal care. Try catholic charities or a pregnancy center, they might have other resources for you. Keep trying medicaid. Good luck hun!

Planned parenthood will require a 1000.00 dollar deposit if you have no insurance. After that deposit everythibg is done on a sliding scale.

Definitely try Medicaid,  but try Planned Parenthood as well they do services on a sliding scale. Try your free clinics as well. Contact the health department they should be able to give you more information and resources.
