Im from the UK, Im 16 weeks and seen my midwife twice. Have had 1 urine test.
I do it every time since my first appointment.
Maybe depends on where you live..
Im from California.
Every single time since I was 5 weeks (I'm 31 now)
They can check for blood in the urine, ketones that show dehydration, infection like a uti, etc.
They only collected a urine sample at my first appointment (8 weeks). I am now 21 weeks
With my first two they did it every time, but by the time I got prego with my third, they had decided it wasn't all that important. I don't think I had done any samples this last time.
I'm 27 weeks and they've taken my urine every time since my first appointment
Thanks ladies I'm going to have to ask cuz now I'm a little bit concerned
I get mine checked every time I go. They check for proteins and other markers. It's definitely important because it indicates when there's a problem.
Yes every single time! I change obgyn and they do it every single time in the second office as well.
Some states have laws where pregnant women must be drug tested. If the test is positive you may face criminal charges or even lose your baby after delivery. Depending on the situation of course. But if you're a druggy you don't need kids in the first place so it's fair in my eyes.
My doctors office takes a urine sample every time after 28 weeks.. I see them weekly now so I have to pee every time.
I only had mine checked once with both of my pregnancies.
I leave one at every appointment even if I see two doctor's in one day. The last time turned into a mess with a false positive of protein, but usually it's no big deal.
I think I had my urine checked once or twice at my doctor during my pregnancies...
With my first two I had to leave a sample every time, with this one I have only done it a couple times. It all depends on how the Dr office is run.
Really!! I get my urine checked at every visit. They check for uti, trace of diabetics, bacteria in your urine etc. Ask your doc why they don't do urine sample. I believe its important. My last visit urine was sent to the lab to test for sti's gonnereah, clymadia, vaginalitis etc.
Yes my dr requires you to do it every check up bc they check your protein levels to make sure you dont have protein in ypur urine and to check for infection etc
