used clothes

my sister in law proposed to give her kids clothes to my new born baby. but I do not want my baby to wear used clothes. I have been doing a lot of shopping for him and he has enough clothes. I do not want her clothes but husband believe it would be rude not taking the used clothes. what should I do?

Ummm, I wish I was in a financial situation to not have ANYTHING used. Not really. My little sister has a 4 month old boy and she's giving me a bunch of his clothes. And you know what, they're just like new and having them is saving me a lot of money. Don't look the gift horse in the mouth. I do think it's rude at least not to accept them.

Accept the clothes and go through them. Like someone mentioned it may be good clothes for baby to lounge around the house in, just return to her what you won't use.

My first baby I was all... brand new baby, everything for him has to be brand new. Nothing wrong with feeling that way either. .... but niw on baby 3 I'm like thrift store queen.  I've saved a lot on clothes and was able to splurge on other things.

Well its up to you but I would take them and look through them and see if there is any cute outfits.  My sisters gave me tons of baby clothes.  They are just trying to be helpful and it's really the thought that counts.  But like I said it's up to you. . If You don't want them then you'll have to just kindly tell her that.

I'd go ahead and take the... especislly if she offers bigger clothes. I've learned kids can always use tg e used clothes for play and camping. And babies can be mesy and stain things easy... save your nice new ones for good wear and have her hand me downs for spare/ backup/play.
