using artificial sugar

Hey lovely mommy's! I was just wondering what you all think about the use of the sugar stevia? Is it safe? or would I be better off using real sugar?

Yea. My coworker is all about natural and organic... I would tease her... Then I got my karma! Lol. Sometimes I have to learn the hard way!

I used mio (to flavor water) drank it all day... Got a killer headache for 2 days from the aspartame... I cut way back on artificial sweeteners. But I also have to watch my sugar in take. Had high bp b/c of too much sugar with my daughter. So thankfully I'm craving healthy this time. Stevia is a natural sweetener though right?

Sugar is sugar to your body. It doesn't recognize the difference between artificial and real and it processes it the same way. If you want to waste money buying the more expensive artificial crap, go ahead... but you'd do better and save money just limiting your regular sugar.

I am trying to stay away from the aspartame because my family had a history of heart problems from it. this stevia is supposed to be all natural but I still figured I'd ask.

Is that like a sugar substitute?

Good question, I just educated myself on aspartame, a sugar sweetner that is sweeter than regular sugar, but lower in calories. I bought sugar free vanilla wafers, only to find out they aren't really sugar free because it contained that ingredient.
