Please everyone just research all vaccines from unbiased sources. Unfortunately you can't rely on what doctors or nurses tell you to do. I'm not 100% against all vaccines but there is no need for such large quantities and so frequently..... just please please research before you just do something because a "doctor" tells you. I have a medical and pharmaceutical background.
We aren't getting in to do any vaccines. Don't believe I them. A lot of people I know, aren't any more.
I agree with u Riahs_mommy. I wont be giving my baby this shot either.
I'll be waiting. Hep B is transmitted sexually or through needles. And as no one in my family has hep B and I don't, I'm going to wait until baby is 2 months. I just feel bad pumping her with chemicals when she is only hrs old.
If I lived in a higher risk community (I.e. a lot of drug users nearby) I would reconsider, but out on our farm she is safe...
I'm not opposed to getting her shots I just don't think she needs it at 1 day old where I'm at they make it sound like its mandatory so I was just curious what you think I have 3 other children all healthy so I know what I'm doing just wanted to know others opinions
Look up HBV, it's consequences & then make your decision as to whether or not you want to protect your child. I would.
I'm probably the wtong person to ask because I strongly believe in vaccination so I'll take all the ones they offer. My son had all his and never had a problem. I wasn't so much worried about the hep b one because where we are the risk is low so it was good for him to have for the future but I couldn't wait for him to have the whooping cough vaccine. Every year there are terrible cases of it here.
I only am doing mine at two months because at my pediatricians office at 2,4, and 6 months they get pediarix which is a combo shot of Dtap, Hep B, and Polio... That way I don't have to split the last dose or get an unnecessary extra
Whatever they tell me to give her i will I did with my first and I just listen to what the docs and nurses tell me!
I did with my first I'll do it again didn't bother him at all.
Starting the hep b series in the hospital isn't a bad idea - since it's a series of three shots with very specific spacing between injections the scheduling works great to start then because it lines up with standard well-baby visit schedules. If you've ever been close to someone with an active hepatitis infection you will understand why it is important to protect children from that kind of terrible but preventable disease.
I had my baby vaccinated at the hospital.
Didn't harm her. At her 2 month check up, she already needed 5 shots. .. wasn't going to bombard her with 6.
Its not mandatory. I will be waiting until 2 months of age to get it, along with the rest of the recommended immunizations.
