Thanks for the good advice. I agree, googling has not done me any good. They had to give me iv morphine as well and I wasn't happy about it but the contractions were just awful. Funny thing was, they gave me the shot of morphine and asked if I could still feel them and I said that I think they had stopped but my husband said you could still see them very clearly on the CTG for ages, so it was definietly helping me cope with them.
I haven't been on it before, but have had to be on Morphine during an emergency surgery at 33 weeks. It's not ideal, obviously, but the doctors would not allow women to take these medications if they were "unsafe". Of course we wish we didn't have to take them but we dont all have the luxury of a smooth sailing pregnancy. Take your medication as prescribed, especially if it's going to help reduce the risk of preterm labour (which is why I had to be on the morphine as well, as the stress the trauma did to my body was causing more harm to baby, so the pain HAD to be managed).
If you want more advice if you aren't comfortable, I'd seek a 2nd doctors opnion, and not Dr. Google! :).
Good luck!
