Waiting to name my baby

Just wanted to know if any of you ladies are waiting to meet your little one first before naming them or if you have a name picked out already? We have three names picked out for our little girl but my husband doesn't understand why I want to wait to name her.  I just feel like I need to meet her first and see which name fits her best.

I think the same thing too but people like my friend have named their baby while still pregnant and she tells me, I just know. But I'm the same as you bigapplefamily, I need to see, hold and smell my baby before deciding what to call her

I'm with you! I waited until after I saw my first dd to name her and I will be doing the same with this one. It helps that we aren't finding out the gender either. I just don't understand how you can name someone before seeing them and spending some time with them on the outside ;)

Yes!! I was set on Abigail for our first.   She came out and she immediately became Sara. The name suits her, she is a princess!! We are going over names, but not settling on any until our little girl makes her appearance

My first daughter we chose her name when I was 7 months pregnant-- McKayla Marie... and that was a struggle because I wanted Hailey and hubby wannted Alexie... this time around I was convinced we were having a boy so I convinced him on the name Chase before we found out what I was having. .. to our surprise it was another little girl... we decided on our name Emily when I was 20 weeks- so 5 months... the middle name we just decided on about 3 weeks ago- Michelle. ... I'm 37 weeks and beyond ready

My last daughters name jumped out at me after she was born. I had her at 32 weeks, and named her after my childhood BFF. She was a premie like my daughter. Anyway later come to find out Breeanna means woman of strength. Pretty fitting for a premie and ironic because she was born breathing (shouldn't have at 32 weeks) and got out of the hospital a month early.

Glad I'm not the only one :) my husband is so set on the name Layla but I told him, what if she doesn't look like a Layla?!? He thinks I'm ridiculous.

I waited until I met all four of my kids. I always have a list of names I like, but it's funny how the name I favor isn't usually the name I pick when I meet my baby. I think it's great that you wait!

This time my baby already has a name. My SO never had a child and I feel it's up to him to name this baby, so I'm not complaining about him having a name already.

With my first, once we heard his name before he was born we just knew that was the one we wanted. But with my second, we went into the hospital with every intention of naming him Brantley. He came home as a Logan. So I don't blame you lol
