Irritable uterus

I have been in the ER twice in the past week, and have been diagnosed with an irritable uterus which causes contractions. I'm terrified because I'm only 23 weeks along with our first baby. My OB has been out of town so I'm not sure what to do other than keep my feet up as much as I can and try to rest. I'm still working Monday through Friday and I'm on my feet a lot. Any suggestions, words of encouragement, or stories of your experiences with this would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you. You too. Do youthink it may have been ligament stretching? I have that from time to time and it can be quite painful. Hope you are feeling better.

I don't know what this could have been? I was going to wait until my appointment on Friday, but I am going to call tomorrow. Thank you and make sure you take it easy. Best wishes!

Thank you for your great advice. I had pain across my abdomen, and my stomach would harden. Sometimes it would take a few minutes for it to release and become soft again. My contractions were happening about 5+ times per hour.

I was having sharp pains from time to time throughout the day yesterday and one almost brought me to my knees. I don't know if it could have been Braxton Hicks or the baby hit something? I'm going to call my OB tomorrow. What were your symptoms?

I would google methods to keep relaxed at home, take it easy at work, possiblly take a few days off till doc gets back. And if it gets reql bad go to labor and delivery,  dont risk waiting,  not worth it
