My contractions started within about an hour of my water breaking. We stayed at home for 12 hours just waiting and timing them and working through it before we felt it was time to get to the birthing center... our beautiful 9lb boy was born after 21 hours of labor and over 3 hours of pushing, all med-free. Hoping baby #2 has a slightly faster entry into the world but it really wasn't too bad.

My water broke at 2.30am when I got up for a midnight toilet run. I went to hospital around an hour later (due to strep b positive) the monitors picked  up that I was having contractions but I couldn't feel them. I still wasn't having contractions after about 5-6 hrs so was put on a drip to get it moving. Ended up with csection at 11pm that night due to no progression.

I was having contractions for a week before my water broke but as soon as that happened I took about an hour to go to hospital from that time they were full on contractions. It's different for everyone :)

I didn't start having contractions until about 8 hours after my water broke. Even then, it was because they finally pushed it along with pitocin. I was in labor a total of 16 hours.

Whoops! They gave me pitocin before they listened about him possibly having another bag. Once that kicked in, it was horrible!!! Still nada though until they broke his second bag. That made them hurt worse but after, he was out in two hours. Total time after my water broke was 36 hours in hospital before he arrived.

I had my membrane scraped earlier in the day but I had been having contractions for a long time before they scraped it. They weren't bad though. Then I had sex and about 3 hours later, fell asleep and sploosh! Water broke all over my Chihuahua. :/ even after it broke, they weren't real bad because my son had two bags like I did when I ess born.
