My hubby gave me a bad cold about 2 months ago as well. Doctor said to take Robitussin DM. Its a clear syrup without any dyes. My sore throat cleared up within a day or two. Also try to keep honey lozenges on you to help with any cough.
Tylenol products is all I was told! They have Tylenol cold! I took that when I was sick months ago!
