I had contractions less than 2 mimutes  apart(8 to 12 hours) on amd off for a week. I was at 8 cm when things calmed down. I had a nice meal, which my body immediately purged, and I was shaking from transition. I had a baby in arms less than 4 hours later.

I didn't have the stereotypically labor, but when my body was ready, it was ready. It was quick.

Lost bits of mucuous plug for about a week before. Had bad back pain the day before I started having contractions. The day I started having contractions I also felt "blah" as someone said above. I felt 'different' somehow but contractions didn't start until 12 hours after that. Daughter was born 2 days later.

The day before I went into labor I was so nauseous and had bad diarrhea and vomiting. I thought I had the stomach flu because I hadn't had any morning sickness or anything my whole pregnancy, but the next morning my water broke and my doctor said it was just my body getting ready to have the baby.

I had very strong Braxton hicks contractions every 10 to 15 minutes for several hours then it would stop for several hours and start again for six days before active labor started. Every pregnancy is different.
