I live in michigan and u can file for medicaid right online. It will give u a confirmation letter. U also have to go to a free woman's clinic or health department and take a pregnancy test. They can refer u to an gyno that will accept medicaid in your area.
I had my first apt at 8 weeks, but that was just for blood test verification. You do a dating ultrasound at 12 weeks. That could be a good time to go.
I was 10 weeks when I had my first appointment. The doc. Wouldn't see me before that time.
Congrats on the baby!!
I live in Michigan as well and the ob typically won't see you until 8 weeks unless you want to just go in and reconfirm the pregnancy via urine or blood testing.
Also, you clearly need insurance so please dont feel bad about applying for Medicaid. ..sometimes things aren't always the way we want them but it'll get better. Make sure that you apply on line first and then head into an office...let them know that you're pregnant with no insurance and they'll make temporary insurance effective that day until the approval letter arrives...you'll be approved since you're preggars.
Best wishes and may you have a super healthy and enjoyable pregnancy! !
I live in Indiana and I called them at 5 weeks and they didn't have me come in til 9 weeks because I knew the date of the first day of my last period. I think women go in earlier because they arnt sure of that day.
I would call your OB or midwife office and they will tell you when they'd like to see you and set up the appointment for then
Between 6-8 weeks is the normal time to go.
Between 6-8 weeks is when a lot of doctors see you for the first prenatal visit. Until you get coverage look into the free clinics in your area.
Anytime between 9 and 14 weeks is the usual time for first appointment. My doctor has you schedule for 9 weeks. I couldn't make it until 11 weeks this pregnacy. Before 9 weeks it is too early to hear the heartbeat very easily. 9 weeks and on is when baby is big enough for heart beat to be found easier. You are ok.
They usually have you come in to establish pregnancy and have the first prenatal between 6-8 weeks. So definitely call your OB or midwife to get in.
