Afraid to lose my job because of my pregnancy

I'm a recent college graduate. I was finally fully hired by my company last week. Although that was super exciting news for me, I also found out I'm almost 8weeks pregnant. I'm so scared to tell my employer. I don't even know what to say or how to come out with it. I'm really scared to lose the only income I have for me and my child. I know there are laws to protect me. But has any mother put there gone through a similar situation?

The same excat same thing happened to me. I started a new job as a cna and about a month later I found out I was 8 wks pregnant. Before I found out I was extremely sick and once I found out I started spotting for a few days and I actually went to the hospital and called H.R. and told her excatly what was going on and she completely understood. I would tell H.R. before any complications happen (praying that none do) so they don't think you're just calling in to call in. They can NOT fire for it. And talk to them about their maternity leave. Like my job I have to work 1000 hours to have a job to come to after leave so preparing now works best for me

I held off telling my employer also, I've been with the company seasonal from August to October then hired permanently from October to present...since I got hired OR permanently I started probationary period, I'm due March 13th and I'm telling HR this week...idk how to tell them honestly lol and at this point I just care that I'll still have a job post baby.

Any reputable company will not fire you. I just hired two ladies and they both turned out to be pregnant. It is what it is.You won't be eligible under FMLA but would be able to go for delivery and recovery post birth.

You don't have to tell but if you study missing work or need time off for apts, you may want to bc that could effect your employing as it effects your attendance. It is totally up to you.

Don't say anything. Around six or seven months talk to your HR manager and see what the process is for your situation. No one needs to know anything yet. They can't terminate you because of your pregnancy
