He is just 6 days old and he's very jaundice :(:(:( he laying in the bed with all those lights around him and needles in his little arms and it breaks my hart :( i cant even hold him when his crying... I hope my angel gonna be ok.
And my mother in low (monster in low) came and told me this is all my fault i feel so sad i cant stop crying :(

Any mommie's up there who's baby's been jaundice?

My 1st baby had jaundice, but it wasn't severe enough for lights. Don't listen to your mother-in-law. She doesn't know what she's talking about. There isn't anything that you could have done differently to avoid this. Just keep up with the feeding and as long as he's peeing and pooping he'll be fine.

Jaundice is not a disease, its caused by an excess of bilirubin in the blood and there is nothing you can do to prevent it. There are two types of jaundice, one which (is very rare) and can be fatal, and the other happens to about 8 out of 10 babies. As long as he's under the lights and eating and pooping everything will be fine. Most of the time they have baby back in the hospital just as a precaution. Don't worry you'll have your little guy home soon!

Thank you... I'm ftm so i really had no idea but he is just 6 days old and from his birth i saw 2 different midwifes and they didn't noticed as well. just today had another midwife appoinment and she told me to go er. I know its not my fault bt felling really bad :( thank you God bless you

I was born with jaundice and almost died had my mom not noticed it and my niece had severe jaundice. Its scary but it will pass. This is NOT your fault. EVERYCHILD is born with some jaundice but depending on the level determines how they will treat, IF it needs to be treated. Both my boys had it. Dont let her blame you.
