I kept my maiden surname when we got married and our daughter will have my surname.
People who frown upon this needs to come into the new millenia, it's only a name..
If a child carries the fathers, mothers or both surnames -who cares?
It really doesn't matter or mean anything.
Just take the surname you two want.
Wow. Okay. My daughter whonis almost 4 had the same last name my maiden name. Now I am married and she has mine still. Due to sperm donor being the biggest moron in the planet earth. My husband wants to adopt her (has been there since birth) just costly. So are working in changing her name for now. If you and father are together and he is in baby life than give last name. Never had an issue with last name ever.
Im married but never legally changed my last name. I dont have any problems. The only thing would be if I had to cash a check in my married name that is several hundreds of dollars....but that never happens :p no problems at doctors or anything. They even have my married name on their system.
Nope. I kept my maiden name when I got married and I used his lastname for the kids. I've never had a problem.
I have never had a problem. Well unless them assuming my last name is hers as well is a problem! Lots of hitting the backspace on the computer and scratching out when they assume we should have the same last name. I have considered changing mine to his although we are not married but would be Lots of work with ids and my work. I do feel there is judgment when they find out we have separate last names even though hubby amd i have been together over 10 years. I just dont want to get married ever.
As someone who married a man with a hyphenated last name, don't do it. I won't take his last name because of it. He is considering legally changing it, so we can all have the same last name
I'm thinking about hyphenating the last name
No I don't have the same last name as my kids or their father and haven't had a problem .. I do all the Dr appt etc. Who ever told u that is crazy !!! I think a child should have the last name of the father.
^^ meaning if the last name is yours and not the dad's, the dad will have trouble
I've never had a problem with my son. I think if it's the other way around, it's more difficult.
I have never had a problem
No not at all as long as you have the birth certificate you will be fine!
My daughter has a different last name and never had a problem
