whooping cough

Do you all think it's necessary? And how will you ask others to get it?

I'm not too worried, I haven't heard of any cases in my area lately and bub will be born at home and stay at home for a while. Apparently a vax in your 3rd trimester can pass on antibodies to the baby if you're worried. Also read a good study of oral vit C treatment for whooping cough which lowers it's severity dramatically (just keeping that information in back of my mind should I ever need it - the whooping cough vaccine efficacy is low, as many as 1 in 4 people will not be immune after it, so good to keep some back up plans in place)

I'm guessing they are talking about the vaccine. What do you mean ask others to get it? Are you gonna ask everyone that wants to see the baby to go get vaccinated? You can maybe ask people that want to visit the baby if they have had the booster shots...and just make sure no one is sick when they visit. If anyone has a cough or anything tell them not to visit. I think they vaccinate pretty early for whooping cough so the baby should be protected. I can't get the vaccine myself due to medical issues. So hopefully I won't catch it from anyone.
