Im almost 30 wks and I also have been suffering from heartburn.  I don't know what is causing it. I don't eat spicy food.  I've been drinking milk coat it. It helps a little.  I'm always cautious with meds.

I take Prilosec (well the generic version) every morning and luckly that has taken care of the problem conpletely.  My OB says it is 100% safe. I had horrible heartburn with my daughter 8 years ago amd she sworethe only safe thing at that time was Tums. Oh...and she was a bald baby. Lol. Oh that old wives tale about heartburn and hair was completely false in that case.

My doctor said it was fine to take Zantac. I take the 150 and that's the only thing that helps me otherwise I would be sick.
