wooping cough

So I just found out last night that my hospital does not carry the whooping cough vaccine yet.  I'm 35 weeks today and this whole time I was thinking that I was getting the vaccine at the hospital....I haven't been to my primary doctor in years...and the ob that I spoke with yesterday at my appointment mentioned getting it before I turn 36 weeks.

Crunch time!

My question is does anyone know of the vaccines effectiveness beyond 36 weeks?  Should I just vaccinate myself and my husband when she is born?  Or will I still be able to pass the vaccine to her if I can't get an appointment with my pcp until after the 36 weeks?

Go to walgreens. Or cvs. Or walmart.

Yeah I'm doing the strep b test next week

You'll be able to pass it on to her. My ob said that if I had strep b that they would give me antibiotics before my son is born but luckily I don't have it. I would think same goes for vaccines.

Not sure about that but i know most pharmacies carry vaccines. I got my flu shot at Walgreens and the pharmacist said they carry the whooping cough too.
