working up to due date?

Do most women work up until there due date? I am a teacher due March 23rd. My   job is 45 minutes away and my hubby and I are worried that a may go into labor so far away from home. Has anyone dealt  with this situation or have any advice?

I personally plan to work up until i go into labor. My other child was 5 weeks early and i actually went into labor while on shift. The reason I'm working up until i have this baby is that i want as much time home with him/her as possible.

Since u are working up to the due date i think ur biggest concern is packing an overnight bag. Make sure thats handled w. Things for u and the baby and make sure ur husband/family member can get that to u since u might not b home to throw the luggage in the car.

But i am also working 40mins away from home and hospital but i dont think its likely that u will have the baby in the car.

And If u are getting induced (although this may hurt more ive heard) u could plan this whole thing out :) and take the day off. And Ur thirty/more days.

I plan on doing the same thing and i would not stress because even when u think about it most women go into labor and then they are in labor for HOURS AND HOURS before the baby actually comes or before its time to push. Granted some women are diff but i barely heard anyone say "hey my water broke, my baby came in half an hour" dont stress love

I plan on working up almost until my due date. I'm 36 weeks today. Using my vacation before my leave since leave isn't paid. I'm due Jan 31st and take off starting the 25th. My hospital is about an hour away from me. I work 12 hour shifts so I'm trying to make it as far as I can.

I'm currently 39w 1d. I just had my last day on Monday. I'm now using my maternity leave. My job is 35mn away and the hospital I choose to give birth is 25mn away. I only stopped working because my body was too sore moving so much and I became extremely tired behind the wheel before and after work. I worked full time Monday-friday. Do what your body will allow  and personally the distance didn't bother me thinking about labor because I know our body can be in labor for HOURS.

I worked until I delivered. Our house was 40 min from the hospital  and I had no fear of making it in time. I think you should be fine to work until you are due unless your dr tells you otherwise. Good luck!

I unfortunately don't get paid for maternity leave. I've been saving my paid vacation time which is only 8 days for after I give birth so, I am going to try make it to the due date.

I'm gonna have to work as long as I can cuz I do not get paid time off. But, I don't work so far away from home like you do. I would say see what kind of time off you can get from your job and go from there. Good luck. :)
