worried about repeat CS

I had an emergency c/s with my first due to placenta previa.  This time round I was going to opt for another c/s because I just don't think I'm a good candidate for vbac (i'm 39, I've a 3.5 yr old so I'm exhausted all the time, basically I just don't feel physically or emotionally strong enough to cope with a long drawn out labour).

Anyway my midwife has always been fine with my choice but I had an appt with a consultant today and she was really pushing me into having a vbac because there are fewer risks. So now I'm worried having another c/s is a mistake.  But I just don't want to go through 12 hours of labour and end up having to have another c/s anyway.  Plus I've never had any antenatal classes - for either baby - because I knew I was going to have a c/s.

I guess I want some reassurance or opinions on vbac vs repeat c/s - especially from older mummies....

Thanks.  How old was your first baby when you had your second.  My biggest worry with a c/s is keeping an overactive 3.5yr boy away from my stomach for 6 weeks. He's been pretty useless at staying off my bump....

I'm pregnant with my 3rd baby. Iv had 2 section and will be going for a 3rd section due to birth canal being to small. I never was aloud to try natural birth when I had my second child which I'd love to have, my section were good, I got out the next day cause I was walking fine. This time around 3rd section I'm kind of scared as I have to children at home, but do what u think is best and good luck:)

Thanks ladies, my gut says repeat c/s, because I just know I'll be one of those mums who fails at a vbac.  I don't even get braxton Hicks, my body wouldn't know where to start if i had to have a proper labour....

I had a c/s with my first due to placenta previa also. My ob is upselling another c/s because there is more control of circumstances. I personally want to try a vbac. Just remember it's your decision. Go with your gut. Unless your planning on have 3+ more kids then as I understand it the risks are pretty low with either circumstance. A repeat c/s is 2-3% risk and vbac is 1% risk.
