OMG I've had a yeast infection about 4times this pregnancy already and I'm only 24weeks. I get the diflucan pill from my Dr, it goes away..few weeks later my boyfriend and I have sex.two days later back to itching. He's currently been seen by a urologist for penis irritation. We both have been tested for stds, stis,(negative results for both of us)he has had a cystoscopy done twice, been told he definitely doesn't have a yeast infection or bacterial infection. How do I keep getting it back after we have sex then? We don't have sex often and definitely not when I have the yeast infection

I'm a microbiologist and I dealed with chronic yeast infection before during about a year! It would always come back and 2 Dr didnt know what more to give me. From my knowledge of yeast, I cut down sugar, took probiotic with at least one strain of lactic bacteria. I prevent my husband from reusing towel more than once because will drying yeast might multiple on it and sex would give me another batch of them. Also avoid everything acidic in your alimention. For me, coffe is what was lower my vagina pH and help the infection. I would advice against vinegar douche because yeast like acidic environnment. It migth give you temporary relieve because of washout effect but it will come back. We always have yeast and lactic bacteria in our vagina. An infection is when the balance between the two is broken. Hope this help.

Your infection seems to have grown immune to tge medications you can get over the counter. It's time for holistic! Dr.s have failed me before like this :(

Also with the ladies about cutying yeast and sugar, definitely true!

And as far as the vinegar remedy,  go slow as it may burn depending how raw you are down there.  My favorite is the yogurt! It's like asoothing cream!

*****the yougurt NEEDS TO HAVE LIVE AND ACTIVE CULTURES!!****  make sure it's sugar free!!

1. Yogurt plain, no sugar, fruit or dyes. Soak a tampon in it. (freeze for a min or two, as long as you'd like or don't freeze) insert into vag. Put on a pad. You can also put it directly on your vagina as well. Do this for 3 days.

2. Carlic clove. Make sure toy Hey all the skin off. Thread a string tgrough the clove with a needle and thread so you can pull it out like a tampon. Put one in 2x a day for 3,4 days.

3. ACV, apple cidee vinegar. Some theories vary here. I have never soaked a tampon in this and inserted itinto me, but I do put it in my bath or dilute it and flush my vagina with it. Just did recently.  It balancesvthe ph and stopsvitching fast.  Oh The relief!

I've used all of these,  all safe and effective.  Google For more information.  Tride and true holistic wonderful remidies for your lady bits itching like a b****. Good luck!!

I was never to take tablets while pregnant with my last when I got thrush but yogurt helps eating and placing it inside if you know what I mean the cold yogurt soothsayer and helps fix the problem. Get probiotic like inner health plus. Do not have baths stay away from sugar and wear only cotton  undies.

Ok - my advice?  Cut sugar. ALL sugar for at least 2 weeks. None. It's going to be hard but no white bread, no junk, no take out, no added sugar on anything,  no soda. Also find a doterra supplier for some ideas with essential oils. Doterra oils can penetrate cells where other medicines work outside cells. They can help your body actually heal. Good luck!

Drink lots of water. When you wash down there just use water. Dont use feminine wash or soaps. I would also advise against sex cozur hubby might get it. It would also further irritate your vagina/vulva.

Hi, we have the same dilema. Ive had 4 bouts of yeast during this pregnancy. And im 29 weeks oñly. Pregnant women are very prone to yeast and bacterial vaginosis due to hormones. Ive tried tabkets and supositories. Now just cotrimazole cream.  My sugar level is normal. And you just cant take any medicine for it since they have effects on the baby. Miconzale and cotrimazole are ok for pregnant women. Try lifestyle changes. I limit my sugar intake, even bread, or anything that uses yeast for production. I also ditched undies when im at home and when i sleep. If i do weàr undies its pure cotton no liners/pads. Wash undies in mild detergent sun dry and iron it.

I had a friend that used to treat hers with plain yogurt, she would put it on a tampon an before bed. Apparently it's a more natural remedy compared to the drugstore kind, something about the active bacteria (probably cheaper too). I would imagine this can also be done minus the tampon. I personally have never had issues with yeast infections, but I've had my share if UTIs prior to pregnancy and I do know vinegar in a shallow bath works wonders for that!! Also I take cranberry pills everyday for the last four years and they are supposed to not only help with UTIs but plenty of other bacteria in the vagina. Haven't had a problem since I started taking them. Hopefully you can get it cleared up soon!!

And after reading your comment, don't stress! You produce more sugar (glucose) when your pregnant that fungal growth thrives off of. It's extremely common to deal with yeast infections or bacterial when you are pregnant.  So many women who have never had issues, will usually as some point in there pregnancy deal with this as well!

Switch to fragrance  free detergent when you wash your clothes. Make sure you are not using any bath soaps down there. Just warm water. Even be careful if you're in the tub not to condition your hair in it or anything like that you will soak in.  The more you try and "fix" the problem with crazy stuff you find on the Internet, the worse you typically will make it. Loose cotten panties, and go "free" when possible to let everything air out. You certainly don't want anything restricting and tight that just helps promote fungal growth.  Your body gets so out of whack when you're pregnant that more than likely you're becoming more sensitive to something you're coming in contact with if it's persistently coming back. Please don't put yogurt down there, almost all yogurt you get nowadays has some type of sugar in it that will only feed what's going on down there, and not all yogurt actually even contains live cultures of lactobacillus in it. You're better off just taking a straight dose of lactobacillus with a pro biotic if you absolutely want to take that route. But without preventing it from coming back by doing the stuff above, you'll be back in the same cycle.

A glove of garlic,  take the skin off of the clove, lance the garlic (it makes the garlic "weep". Insert into the vagina for a few hours. Repeat daily for about 3-5 days. Yeast cannot live in the presence of garlic. All natural!  Works like a miracle!

If you've had sex with you hubby while infected, it is possible he is carrying it and reinfecting you. Have him talk to his doctor for treatment.
