More than likely if you're bleeding that heavily it's cause slight anemia in your body, which would cause you to feel light headed and/or dizzy. The only reason I can imagine they would want to find out your blood type is for a blood transfusion and/or to see if you're RH positive or negative. If you're RH negative, you'll likely be given a shot to prevent your body from making antibodies--it would be a precautionary sort of thing for if you had been pregnant.
I am going to the doctors today, but now I am worried, they are ordering test to find out my blood type. I took another test and it says negative. But I'm light headed and bleeding profusely. I told them what is going on, should I just go to the er?
If you had a positive (a true positive) it's possible you could be having a chemical pregnancy. This is basically just a very early miscarriage. Retest in a few days and see what it shows, or you can see your doctor for blood work.
