Can a pregnancy blood test give a false negative?

I have just recently switched birth control pills (about 2months ago)and last month I had my regular period.  I have not missed a period yet, but for almost three weeks I have been nausea off and on all day long with indegestion and have been extemely tired.  I have taken three home pregnancy test and one out of the three was positive.  That was last Wed. night, Thurs. I went to the doctor and he did a blood test that came back negative.  The thing is I have never reacted to BCP this way before.  Could I be pregnant and getting a false negative from the doctor?  If anyone has any advice or suggestion I would sure apprecitate it.

Thank you!

Hello To whom it May Concern,

I have recently Begun to have every "pregnancy" Symptom except heart burn since Two weeks ago today. Frequent Urination, Apatite every 45 minutes Or nausea to come about...LMP was 09.01.11 Although I was on Seasonique which accordingly every 3 month a cycle to Occur. According to my calculations I should have had a cycle in the middle of December 2011, Haven't seen even spotting. I stopped taking pills in the middle of December to have a cycle for few days then resume, but just stop taking them all together since in anticipating a cycle. I have in the last two weeks taken 3 at home test as well as a urine and blood test on 01.30.12. They have all been negative, the last urine at home test was yesterday 02.07.12 I plan to take another blood test 02.08.12 To see if HCG levels have increased since last wk when was advised to wait a few days and take another at home as well as return in week for blood by midwife. They detected low levels in last test, and I have only been taking vitamin D and B complex with c in it for the last few months, nothing that I'm aware would have HCG amongst it. I think I felt movement the other day and with all pertaining symptoms I know I am. I feel It. Reassurance from Professionals?

Honestly, I think blood tests can be wrong...  i Had a blood test at the hospital it came back neg. I was already two weeks late and had all the preg. symptoms so I knew it was wrong. Two days later, I took a home preg. test and came back postive, went to the dr. and I was preg. But i miscarried Oct. 28 at 14 weeks
