Mirena IUD and discharge, cramping and swelling.

I had my 2nd child April 22 of last year. June 9th at my 6 week check up I had mirena inserted. No issues until recently. In January I started having a very very light period. I guess it would have just been considered spotting. But I had that go on January, February, and nothing in March. So far this month I haven’t had any bleeding but I’ve been cramping for 3 weeks now. I started having tons of discharge also, it’s almost constant. And so much that it goes through my underwear so I have to wear a liner. The last couple of days my right hand ring finger has been swelling to where I can’t get my ring off. My left hand is fine. I had a cyst back in January but scans back in early March showed it’s gone now so I know it’s not that. My sex drive is almost completely gone too and mood swings are ridiculous. I ordered pregnancy tests and they will be here tomorrow. I highly doubt I am since I do have mirena, but I know it’s not 100%. Why does it sound like? Possibility? Something else?

I’ll also add that another reason I’m debating pregnancy or not is I’ve been doing keto for a while now and tons of women have become pregnant while doing it.

It really could just be your hormones out of whack.  Those are symptoms of that too.  Take the pregnancy test and if negative, my suggestion is to follow up with your doctor to discuss if the mirena is involved in this and to do some blood work to check out what your hormones are doing.  Let us know what happens!

I’m hoping so. We want another just not right now. Our youngest is a mess and we’re trying to buy a house. Tomorrow can’t come fast enough lol
