Pregnancy Risk: possibility of pregnancy?

Hi there!

I've got a question about my risk of pregnancy. My boyfriend and I are both 25 but I've only recently become sexually active since the start of our relationship. I've been on Nuva Ring since the first week of July and have used it perfectly or near perfectly until this month. I removed the Nuva Ring as per my off week on Tuesday, December 5th, but a family emergency out of town delayed my ability to get my new ring until Wednesday, Dec. 13th with me inserting the new ring Thursday morning the next day.

My boyfriend and I had intercourse Thursday night around 11:30 pm meaning the new ring had only been in for a total of 13 hours and the new ring was late being inserted by a little less than 48 hours.

My boyfriend and I occasionally (when I'm using the ring correctly) start without using a condom and putting one on a little into intercourse.

Last night began the same way until I realized the situation and made him put one on fairly quickly after (he said he was no where close to finishing).

I understand the risk of pregnancy through pre-ejaculate and took Aftera this morning (my drugstore was out of Plan B but they have the same active ingredients) less than 12 hours after the brief period of unprotected sex. According to an ovulation predictor, my fertile window would begin tomorrow the 16th.

I'm not sure how the previous normal use of Nuva Ring would factor in if it would factor in at all, but I'm curious if anyone has been in a similar situation and the outcome, as well the potential risk of pregnancy.

My boyfriend and I are committed to each other and have often spoke about our future together, but I'm looking to make a career change and the timing of a potential pregnancy would be less than ideal.

Thank you in advance!

I appreciate your thoughtful description of what happened here and can see you take good care of yourself and work hard to prevent pregnancy.  good for you!  It would be a true fluke if this ended in pregnancy.  I don't think it will.  Too many factors against it.  But it was a tiny risk.  You can test in 2 weeks but really, don't think this situation will result in pregnancy.  good luck
