Negative Pregnancy Test and Continuing Symptoms

I took a blood pregnancy test on Mon. (you can refer to my thread posted on 9/10) that came out negative. It was early on - the day after I missed my period - but, I assumed it would be accurate since blood tests can detect pregnancy a week after conception. But, I also read that HCG levels don't rise early with some women, and it's best to re-test. But, does that apply to blood tests, too? It should have picked up at least something, being taken AFTER my missed period, right?

The only reason I'm wondering is that I'm getting bloating, cramps, and tiredness, but it's still not arrived. I skip periods quite a bit, but normally, I will not get PMS symptoms if I'm going to skip. My boobs have been sore for almost 2 weeks. I've never skipped more than 2 periods in a row. I found out that my insurance doesn't cover lab tests. I have enough for the blood test, granted it is not very expensive (awaiting the bill), but not enough for another. I shouldn't need one, right? There's also no PP clinic w/in an hour of here. I made an appt. with my gyno for next week to try to work something out with birth control, to get my cycle on track. I could bring this up then, but I was hoping someone could tell me more about blood tests. From what I've read, I'm worrying needlessly, but I've never felt this way, physically, in my life. I've also taken evening primrose oil for the past several months, which is supposed to help balance hormones naturally - I quit on Saturday. I don't think this could have a bearing on the test. My question is: is it necessary to do another blood test?

Hi, so when you say "if it don't come up on blood test then it's negative." I have to disagree with you three. Every woman in my family on my mother's side, including my mother, have all had periods four months into their pregnancy, never showed up on home or blood tests for four months either.  And then when they MADE the doctor do an ultrasound, everyone of em were like, "oh, you're 4 months pregnant." Doctor's don't know EVERYONE'S body. They only know what "science" tells them. and you know, sometimes they're wrong. You know your body better than anyone else. If you think that you're preggo. Treat your body like you are, and then in a few weeks, request that you want to do an ultrasound to make sure everything's alright in there. and if you are Preggo, it should pop right up! :) But of course, don't do an ultrasound no sooner than you would if you WERE preggo for sure. Cuz you know you have to wait several weeks before you could even see it on an ultrasound.

Hi, to all the Gals, This is what is wrong. Our Lord God has given us a special sense deep inside of us to know that we are carrying one of his wonderful gifts, a child in our womb. Even if we have negative test that doesn't exactly mean your not. It's the feeling and the symptoms you are already having which is telling us the greatest of God working in our body, eventhough for some might be really painful, for some it's truly joy. Just believe on what you are feeling and receiving and wait upon time. The most important thing is that you are believing and the rest will come. When it's time the test will come Positive for all of us. Don't hesitate just believe. How do you think the women before did, preg test didn't exist then, they just believed in what was happening at the moment and the feeling deeply inside that told them they were. Hope this helps for all. God Bless.

Hi Im 19 and me and my boyfriend have been trying for 4 months now. and simular problems. took a pregnancy test from first choice the one with +yes or -no. the first one said -no so I figured I wasn't. I have very low blood pressure and my last tempeture was 37 and my body has gone hot to cold.

I kept peeing every 5 minutes after drinking no drinking problem controling I always had to go. then I started to crave my chocolate bar that I love to eat when I'm going to go on my period. my last period was Jan and have an other week and a half before I get my period. So I thought it was wierd so the next night I took a pregnancy test and saying +Yes so I told my boyfriend and desided to go the next day. When I got the results back it was a 2 which I know means negitive.

which this part is confusing for me and I know for other women the note says:

RESULTS IN THE 2 TO 50 IU/L RANGE SHOULD BE INTERPERTED WITH CAUTION. HCG DOUBLES EVERY 2 DAYS IN EARLY PREGNANCY.

I was intrigued by the pert interperted with caution so I looked it up and this is what it means:Before publishing the statistic results the researchers have to collect the data, after that analyse the collected data then, interpret results. However, statistics can be misleading if they are wrongly interpreted by the researcher or not treated with caution by the reader. Statistics give us many beneficial data and also assist us to predict the results, but we need interpret with caution, otherwise they can be misleading.

My doctor  told me instantly before I took the blood test that even if it comes out negitive wait until u miss your period when you do go through the process all over again and see from there.

before the result of the blood est I hae had a lot of symtoms, peeing increase, my crotch started to hurt like how ur boob would hurt adn I found out because My crotch started to hurt its common for pregnant women getting it the hormones pushing at ur crotch, Boobs hurting, i puked when doing pillaties (yoga) nausia, hard time sleeping, horny, abdominal pains and yet all neg? dont get it? Im so confused!!!!! and feel like I cant even trust a prego test and now the blood test I do trust but now knowing that the HCG can double and statistics can be misleading isnt even better either.... and I took ovulation tests too to see if Im ovulating and again all negitive and its around the timings I should be after my last period so that doesnt even help either so I need help whats going on with my body Im still getting symptoms and that yes Im stressed which is giving me nose bleeds and that I never missed a period I even get it earlier when I m stressed,,,,, but still have a week and  a half to go till I miss it but till then whats going on????? help please thanx:)
