Pregnant or menopause?

I'm a healthy 45 year old with 2 grown children. I've had periods like clockwork all my life. I have had frequent unprotected sex. All of a sudden my period  stopped 12 weeks ago. I have no symptoms other than for a couple of days it felt
like my left ovary was "twisting" inside-don't know how else to explain. Have not bought a test as I don't think it could be possible at my age. Thoughts anyone?

I'm glad to hear it's negative. Though at your next gyno appointment I'd ask about menopause and make sure everything is ok. Usually it tapers off when menopause hits, instead of just ceasing to exist. Have fun with the next coming years.

FYI I took the pregnancy test and it was negative. I'm relieved as I would have had a lot of explaining to do to my grown kids whom I'm very close with. But surprised my period just seized to exist. Well, with the money I save from not buying pads and tampons I can use for nice things like pedicures. I'm now going to look forward to having grandkids within the next few years. Can't wait!

It is more difficult to get pregnant at your age, but it's still very possible. If you are having frequent unprotected sex, I'd take a home pregnancy test just to check to see if that is what is going on.
