could I be pregnant or have a weird period

Hi can someone please help, I don't know what this means. My husband and I had sex, 4 days afterwords I started spotting which lasted 6 days. Then I started to have a light period and its been a week already. what does this mean. I took a pregnancy test, it came out negative but I think I took it to early to tell for sure. So i'm waiting long to take another one. The light period started around the time I'm suppose to get my period. I usually have heavy periods that last a week or some times 3 days. My husband and I are both 24 years old.

you can have your period and still be pregnant. I say wait a while because everyone is different and then take another test.
