I will try not to write a book but I think this will be helpful. But chances of you getting pregnant are pretty slim having sex the day before you period was due. But it is possible. Normally you will ovulate 2 weeks before your period starts again. The first day of your period marks the first day of your cycle. Then if you have regular cycles (we will say 28 days because thats what dr's will say is normal...) You would ovulate about the 14th day of your cycle and then if you do not have sex during the time you are ovulating or your fertile time then your period will come and start the whole process over. Unless you have very short periods like 21 days or so then the chances of you ovulating during your period are very slim. But it would be more likely that you would ovulate at the end of your period not right before it starts. Otherwise you wouldnt have a luteal phase which is the time between ovulation and your period starting again. My sugestion is to order the book called Taking Charge Of Your Fertility and read the sections on how to get pregnant and how to not get pregnant... Unless you are trying to get pregnant. It will teach you how to track your cycles as well as your temperature and cervical mucus in order to tell when your peak fertile days are around ovulation and when and when you cant get pregnant and all that. It is a pretty fast read and very helpful in understanding a lot of how our bodies prep for babies and periods and what not. You can get it on amazon or ebay for a couple bucks used. Hope this helps and answers some questions.

As to answer your questions though from your previous post sperm can live up to 5 days some will say only around the time of ovulation provided the cervical mucus is egg white like. And that book goes over all of that as well. What kind of cervical mucus is conducive to sperm living and what is not.

Some people have conceived while on their period, so I would say you could become pregnant at anytime, but only when you ovulated. Wait a week or two if you haven't got your period by then take a test.
If it helps on more than one occasion I have been two weeks late with my periods an wasn't pregnant. Good luck.
