I know this is premature but DH and I have been talking aout names...

Our 5 year old DD is named Destinee Eva Alexis...Destinee I have loved from childhood, Eva is my paternal grandmother and Alexis is a variation for the name Alexander. We want to give the new baby a name that has meanings as well so we came up with Sarynitee Kathryn Levae...Sarynitee pronounced "serenity" fits with DD first name with the "ee" ending and the "sar" is for my aunt sarah who recently passed, kathryn is my maternal grandmother who passed before I was born, and levae is a variation of my husbands middle name levar.

We haven't came up with a boy name yet. Can't agree at all.

What do you guys think of the name? Please be honest.

Thanks for the comments ladies. I understand completely about mispronouncing names. My name is Ashleigh pronounced Ashley but people will say "alicia" or 'ash - league" its pretty funny. So Im used to the whole correcting everyone and having to spell names out because everyone spells my name ashley and my daughters name destiny so I am constantly spelling our names. I do like the other spellings you ladies suggested as well.

rebekah -- Yes levae is pronounced (la-vay).

I really like the name Serenity, but I do think you will get a lot of wrong pronunciations with that spelling. It took me a minute to figure it out. I think just changing the "y" to an "e" might do the trick.

Or Serenitee? I like that in this way it includes the "serene" origin of the word.

I agree, I like Serenity but the spelling "Sarynitee" seems to make it seem longer than it is in pronunciation.  It would be nice if it could match with your DD's spelling, so maybe you could change the y part, which is where the syllables get drawn out for me. "Sarinitee"? I don't know, maybe how you have it could work too, I guess people are more used to -yn's now, as in Kathryn.  I can see that now, but on my first and second reading I read it different than you intended.

Good luck! It's probably never to early to start thinking about it. (As a friend told me who didn't name her daughter until 2-3 weeks after she was born) Lol.

I like the names, but think that that spelling of serenity, will get mispronounced a lot, just looking at before you explained  how it was pronounced i was rnoncing it sar-e- nity. and is the levae pronounced La-vay? i do like it, i just think you will have to pronounce her name a lot. i have a similar problem with my daughters name her name is Kialie (pronounced kylie) almost everyone calls he kaylee or kay ally, I'm always having to say no it's kialie  Ki. I still like the spelling, but it does get old tring to get people tp pronounce her name right.
