Painful Braxton Hicks??

I never had these contractions with my other pregnancies but I get them almost every day with this one and they hurt! Sometimes they wake me up at night, and if I get one while I'm walking, I can't stand up straight. I know they aren't real contractions because they don't have a pattern, but everything I've read says that Braxton Hicks aren't painful. Has anyone else been experiencing painful Braxton Hicks?

LOL. Thanks. I really don't even think of the possibility of labor. I had to be induced with my first 3. If I go into labor, I'll be shocked.

Oh...I haven't had painful BH then. I've had them..but they aren't painful. Just keep track of how often they occur. Count them. And tell your midwife what is going on just in case. But having painful BH in the third trimester is normal unless they become too frequent, your water breaks or the mucus thingie which protects the baby comes out. Those are actual signs of labor.

Gee...I REALLY was paying attention to what I was reading last night lol...

No, it's not a crampy feeling. It's just a tightening. My entire uterus gets hard and tight. If I'm laying on my back, or sitting I can my stomach tightening.

Yes. I have. Or I think so. What is it you feel? Does it feel like menstrual cramps? That's what I'm having. My visit is today. My doc knows I'm having pain in my lower abdominal area and back. She wants to follow up so I'll give you an update later on......

Is this what you've been feeling?

Oh, I read that BH can get painful in the third trimester; but as long as they are not regular contractions then we're fine :-(.....ugh...
