Spotting

Well I did call my doc this morning about my spotting. She's out of town, so they sent me to doc on call. They did an ultrasound and saw NOTHING. No baby, no sac, nothing (at least they didn't tell me if they did). The doc stuck his head in during the ultrasound and looked at it, and ordered an HCG quantative. He then made some comment about "there look to be a lot of lakes in there". I have NO IDEA what this meant! I am so confused, sad, don't know what to think right now.
I know it's early, I'm only 5 weeks 3 days, so maybe that's why they couldn't see anything??WHy did they put me through this? I don't know why or how the doc could be so cold to me. At one point I asked him if I'm preggos or not and he said there's no way to know until Sat when we get the results back. I didn't push it because I was sitting there naked with an ultrasound stick inside, and I thought the doc would talk more to me about this after I got dressed. I never saw him again. Went for my lab work and they told me I was done.
I called my regular doc's receptionist and she tried hard to help me..I have an appt with my regular OB on Monday. Please pray for me..I don't know how to feel right now.

I made a comment on your journal. I had bleeding with Fionn from 7-17 weeks a subchorionic hematoma and he is as healthy as can be. You do have to take it easy. I know it is easier said than done when you have little ones already. Good luck.

So I just got back from the dr. They saw the sac, it measured 5w 2days. Haven't seen the baby yet!

The spotting was due to a hemmorage in my uterus. It can mean higher risk of m/c. Doc said to take it easy. The hemmorage is really close to the gestational sac, I'm praying that it doesn't interfer with it.
Go back in one week, hoping to see baby and maybe heartbeat!

Thanks guys! On my way home from the dr I was just thinking I couldn't wait to get on Medhelp to get some reassurance and support. It really helps. I go for my 2nd bloodwork tomorrow (sat) but I probably won't find out results until Appt. on Monday.
Good luck Eirlis! I'll be thinking about you today.

It is very normal to spot. I bled from 7 weeks to 17 weeks with my son Fionn so I know how worrying it can be, but please try and stay positive.

I know how worrisome/scary this time is and how sucky it is to wait for results. Try to keep yourself calm and find whatever distractions you need to make the time pass faster.

5 weeks is really early for an ultrasound and it's entirely possible everything is fine and just too small to be visible at this point... especially if your dates are off at all.  Also spotting is really common and so long as it stays very light and you don't have alot of cramping it's probably going to be fine.

I hope your bloodwork is all good! I'll keep my fingers crossed for you.

PS -- I get my second blood test tomorrow, so hopefully by the afternoon I'll know if things are developing normally this time around.
