I am not having a shower this pregnancy but for my last shower I got a card some flowers and (my friend loves these) soy candles from our local candle shop( she really believes in supporting local businesses) . I think a gift of around $20 is sufficient.
My aunt is paying for everything. I honestly didn't even think about getting her something. I don't know..maybe because she is my aunt, I'm her only niece, and my family has always treated me this way? She isn't just paying for my shower. She also bought me the crib, mattress and wants to get the highchair. Overall she has spent over $2,000 on us. Maybe I should get her something lol
my sis, mom and mil are planning my baby shower. I am not going to get them gifts, just a nice thank you card will do. I got my sis a nice gift for being my maid of honor, but i know that i'll be planning all these parties for her in a couple of years too.
For my shower, my MIL is paying for everything and my SIL is hosting it at her house. Honestly, it's something that they really, really enjoy doing. They are constantly coming up with reasons to throw a party or host a dinner. So, no I don't think I'll be getting them gifts. I think I would if I felt the person really went out of their way.
I know that it's going to be a very lavish baby shower! It's the first baby on both sides of the family.
My SIL is throwing the shower and she spent $65 on the invites alone! I was absaloutly shocked and couldn't believe she would spend that much on them. She had them custom ordered to match the bedding set. She's doing the theme around that.
A family friend is also helping her do the shower. I have 40 guests on the invite list and we will see how many actually RSVP and show up. Invites just went out last week so they have some time still to RSVP.
I feel that I need to do something for the both of them. I know the effort and work they are putting into this deserves some type of token of my appreciation.
Hi Hon,
I just had my baby shower this past weekend it was lovely. My sister in law did such a great job, catered to 45 people and decorated... overall it was one of the nicest things anyone has ever done for me. I felt like I had to do something, so I got her a nice make-up brush set and some bath products. I also had my husband help her by going over early to set up, and returning the table and chairs she had to rent (I did that so he could pick up the tab without her insisting he couldn't).
