will you find out the sex of your baby?

Just wondering of you will find out the sex of your baby at 19 weeks scan? I really wanted to with my first but so glad I didn't as it was such a huge surprise but I think this time I want to.

Here in Australia you can get a home urine test you can use from around 10week that can tell you the gender of your baby but it is only 90% correct.

I told my husband that he can decide on this one, but I don't think he's made up his mind yet. I think it would be fun to know sooner and have only ONE name to have to come up with, but I also think the surprise at birth would be fun. So either way is fine with me. But I'm having a CVS test in less than 2 weeks, so we have to make a decision SOON about finding out the gender! I'll let you know what happens...

Just to be clear, we decided to do the test based only on my age - I'm 37. I haven't had any genetic tests at all yet, so I don't have particularly bad odds or anything. We just want to be as sure as possible - as early as possible - that the baby doesn't have major abnormalities, so we figured we'd do this direct genetic test and skip all the others. I'm nervous about it, and will be quite relieved when it's over and (hopefully) the results are that all is well.

This is my second and I will definately find out as I did with my son. I prefer to be able to plan. I hear what you say rebekah385 my son has curly hair and long eyelashes and they just presume he is a girl.

this is my 4th and i have found out everytime and am planning on finding out with this one as well! I enjoy being able to plan a theme and colors and find a lot of gender neutral items not as cute, plus people always think you a boy when you have a girl and vice veresa. i had my first little boy in all blue head to toe and they still thought he was a girl, because he had curly hair. as long as it's healthy I don't really care what it is (although I do kinda want a girl since i have 2 boys and 1 girl to even things out) , but i like knowing!!! I am definately going to find out the sex because I like to be prepared and to be able to by gender specific things. My OB does an elective 3D ultrasound called a sneak peek at 14 weeks to see if they can tell the sex. So I will be doing the 3D ultrasound.
