First pregnancy @ age 30

Can anyone offer some advice? I just found out today that I'm pregnant. This will be my first pregnancy and I don't know what to expect.

In fact, you can change the cat's litter if you do it every day.  It takes a couple of days for toxoplasmosis to mature in feces enough to be dangerous for a pregnant woman to handle.  And of course, that would be *IF* your cat has toxoplasmosis -- most don't.  (More people get exposed to toxoplasmosis from gardening than from cleaning cat boxes.  You can get a titer run to see if you have already been exposed to it, in which case you aren't at risk any more no matter how many cat boxes you clean.)

Oh, one more thing I thought of after I hit send... If you have a cat(s) you can't change the litter box any longer... if you HAVE to make sure to wear gloves and some sort of mask so you're not inhaling the fumes

First off, congrats and welcome to the community... I remember my first time, I always had a million questions (didn't know about this site) and was always too excited at my OB's appointment to remember what to ask... so firstly, if there's some questions on here we cant answer, make sure to write them down to take with you.. Take your prenatal vitamins everyday, there's a list of foods you need to avoid some examples are, deli meat, raw fish, unpasterized dairy products, make sure your meats are always well done, soft cheeses and a few others, try to limit your cafiene intake to 200mg or less per day.. and the somewhat obvious ones, no alcohol, smoking or drugs.. (not saying you do any just covering the basis) And one thing I see a lot of first time Moms worry about is cramping... so, rule of thumb is if you are doubled over in pain from the cramping thats not normal.. but, if it just feels like your period is about to come (but doesn't) that's normal as everything is stretching and making room... I'm sure I missed a lot and if I have I hope someone fills it in for you.. if you have any other questions feel free to leave another message on here or you can inbox me a message anytime.. I'm on often, so I will answer you as quick as possible... best wishes and again, congrats :)
