Low heart beat

The pregnancy is six weeks gone but there was slight bleeding 3 days ago. The doc scheduled a scan today and said the heartbeat is low and that the baby may have stopped growing. The doc wants a repeat scan in 4 days. Has anyone experieced this and what was the outcome? I read an old posting of one of the members in August 2007 similar to my story and this encouraged me because the baby later continued growing as expected. Pls advice/pray/encourage if possible.

Hi I just wanted to say that when I was pregnant I went for a scan at 6w1d and the baby had a heartbeat of 95 and then a couple weeks later it was 173. A lot of times when the heart just starts beating it can be on the slow side and then get faster.

Well my experience was in Jan of this year. And I had a fetal heart rate of 89 at 6wks 2 days and they did blood work and had me come back about 4 or 5 days later and I had no heart rate and the baby had stopped growing as well. But I did hear of a situation where the baby recovers with assistance of hormones and grows and the delivery was fine.

The funny thing is we were not trying and Im at 6wks5days today and my appt last Mon the heart rate was 128. Im taking baby aspirin and progestrone this time so I pray for a full term baby this time.

Just remember that the first 10-12 wks the baby lives off you and the hormones your produce and if they are low you can miscarry so ask about your progestrone levels and make sure they are in range.  Your doc will know.  And I wish you the best and baby dust that your bean sticks and grows healthy!!!
