Need answers to my preterm situation

Hello ladies! I’ve been reading posts here to find my answers, because I gave up my hope to find them from doctors. I’m on a bed rest for two and a half weeks now, made it to 32 weeks. My cervix started thinning a couple of weeks ago and it stays on 2.8 mark. I’ve been having BH during my whole pregnancy, but now they are much stronger. They put me on medication which helps to reduce BH, but after two weeks of using it I have new sensations – my BHs and between them now accompanied with that feeling that we have during regular contractions, but very light. When I go to the hospital for my check up there usually no doctors, only PA or nurses, the best I got was midwife once. I’m worrying about my sensations, because I don’t know if my labor may start any time due to these BH and increased pain in my back area. Any advice please?

if it is white then I dont think that it is amniotic fluid, but if it is clear smell it, if it is odorless then it is amniotic fluid, but if it smells like urine then it isnt.
but you have to still ask your doctor......

Im on nefidipine, 10 mg every 4 hrs, trying to stay in bed, but what happened just now: I got up to heat myself a food, only for 4-5 minutes, and was feeling so heavy around the back, that had go back and lay down, but in my pants i've found a table spoon drop of clear fluid. What's that? I've had it once three weeks ago and now. No pain so far. I've noticed that as soon as i make a little more activity then laying in bed, i have some kind of droppings - either white or clear. Is that something to worry about?

At the hospital I am going to deliver at, 32 weeks is the cutoff to avoiding NICU (unless there are problems of course). At my 32 week sono the baby was measuring 4 lbs 7 oz. I know some full term babies that weigh just about a pound more than that so I guess it depends on how things are going for you.

First of all, a baby born at 32 weeks will definitely have complications and need the NICU so take it seriously. Your cervix is actually measuring great. 3-5 is the norm but after 32 weeks it starts to get shorter anyway.  How often do they check it? A NP is just fine to check your cervix as long as they are checking it with a transvaginal u/s. I have been on bedrest since 23 weeks. I am now 30. My cervix is a 1.5, I am starting to dialte, and I am 50% effaced. I have had labor stopped twice. I am back home on strict bedrest and medicine every 12 hours to keep ctx away. If your cervix is staying at a long closed length then I would not worry about them. If you have 4-6 an hour for 2 hours, thats when you should call and have your cervix checked. You must make it to 36 weeks to avoid NICU time (a policy at my hospital) What meds are you taking?

FYI-I thought mine were BH and they turned out to be real labor ctx. i wasnt even feeling most of them and they were 2 min apart when I was hospitalized! Dont just brush it off if they are changing your cervix.

well if the contractions at night are "real" (and not just practice ones) they will get more intense and closer together.

They won't disappear.

If you have contractions try laying on your left side and making sure you are well hydrated and see if they go away.

My kids are 12 and 9 so it's been a long time for me too!

I kind of remember this feeling because i've had a baby 18 years ago! So this night i couldn't sleep - so bad were my contractions. They lasted for a few hrs and then disappeared. No spotting or other things associated with labor. The doctor said (on the phone) that if i feel OK during the day then we should wait at least till 34 weeks. But how can i control what's happening at night???

Trust me when I say, you will know when your labor starts. It will feel entirely different.

And if you go to labor now anyway, chances are your baby would probably not even need NICU time.
