Round ligament pain is stretching. I guess sort of like growing pains.  I still get stabbing pains when I cough and I am 35 weeks.  I understand being worried.  This is my first pregnancy also and I have had a rough time.  I bled the entire first six months because of a blood clot.  It is very stressful when you don't know what to expect.  I would still talk to my midwife if I were you...just to get a professionals opinion.

Hi princess_kimi! I agree with akl...it could definitely be round ligament (stretching) causing the pain, and the white discharge is totally normal. But I also understand you wanting to get it checked out since it's only on one side and not the other. Since you're now 5 weeks, you should be able to get an ultrasound to confirm that it is an intrauterine pregnancy. It's probably too early to see anything else, but the sac (and possibly the yolk sac) should be visible in your uterus. The fetal pole (which is the beginning of the baby) and the heartbeat is usually visible by 7 weeks. Best of luck with everything! I'm sure everything is fine...

When I was in my first trimester I had cramps and pains the entire time.  My doctor told me it was normal due to everything stretching to accomodate the baby that is growing.  The sharp pain could be round ligament pain.  Also, discharge is normal in pregnancy and increases, for me at least, the farther along I get.  Just talk to your midwife and I pray for the best for you!
