6 week ultrasound

I am 6 weeks pregnant and had an ultrasound the other day.  The ultrasound tech said she didn't see a baby yet but saw the sac with the yolk sac (?) but didn't see a baby. (I can't remember the proper terminology). She said it could still be too early and made a repeat ultrasound for July 13th because I will be over 8 weeks by then.  I can't remember how early I was able to see the baby in my previous pregnanies and I hate having to wait.

I've never posted here before and I am not sure if I posted in the right section but would be very grateful for any insight.  Thank you, Allison

Are you absolutely sure you are 6 weeks? Could you be off my even a couple days?? Even so from my understanding the VERY earliest a hb can be seen on an u/s is 6 weeks. So, maybe your dates are slightly off? Or maybe your little bean is just being shy! A yolk sack definitely sounds hopeful!! If you are having a hard time waiting till your next u/s (I know waiting is SOOOO difficult) maybe you can ask your Dr. to do some blood work and check how your beta levels are rising... this could maybe help put your mind at ease. Hang in there like I said... from my understanding 6 weeks is still very early. (((HUGS))) Please keep us updated!

If they didn't seem worried I would try to have faith in your clinic.  I'm not sure when a heart beat is visible vs just seeing a yolk sac.  Hopefully others will post - you might want to try the 'maternal & child' forum, I think that gets more traffic.
