Birthing methods

OK, so has anyone else started thinking of birthing methods?  I'm watching A Birth Story and the woman used the Bradley method.  I'm assuming there are many different methods and am wondering what people are thinking of doing or previous experiences.  Thanks.

I always wanted a waterbirth but since I am high risk I cant have one but I know I will be getting an epidural. I have done it with and without and I Will be going for it again. I just had such a better birth with it.

Hi. I am in my third pregnancy, with two previous waterbirths. I would reccomend this method to ANYONE! It was wa wonderful, memeriable experience, and I plan to do it again this time around. I wouldn't have it any other way!

I am already signed up mentally for an epid.  I saw my sister give birth to my niece and she was in pain.  I also watch more tlc and discovery about babies more now than ever.  It is reassuring that if we have prenatal care, we can diagnose and prevent bad things from happening.  and if something does go haywire, the drs have enough knowledge to make things right a quickly as possible.  sometimes bedrest is the simplest answer.  I want a regular vaginal birth with an epid.......if possible.     :-)

I too was watching discovery, they had shows on free birthing, in the water, or with a middwife. My mother did not have any medication with all 4 children, they say that everyone is different I am just praying that c section will not happen. I saw too many of my friends in pain after that.

As long as I get an epidural, I'm good. I have a low pain threshold. :-P

With my daughter I had to be induced with pitocin due to pregnancy induced hypertension. It was a very painful labor and I progressed so quickly that I did not have time for the epid prior to reaching 10cm.   This time around I would like to avoid induction if possible but I want a more relaxing birthing experience and have already had documented in my chart I want an epidural.

You will kown ahead of time what is right for you but be always be mindful that what we want to happen and what does happen is often out of our hands. :)

Well, lets see. I was going to try and go natural..that didnt happen...and Im glad I didnt think too hard into this since I had to be induced to to Hypertension and mild preeclampsia....and after 12 hours of non progressive labor I had to have a c-section.. so needless to say.....I have no choice this time around!

Best of luck in your decisions ladies!
