Subchorionic heammorhage

This is my second pregnancy. First one was completely uneventful except a C-section in the end due to fetal distress during labour. I've had no miscarriages so i was really hoping for the same for this one too. But in my 10th week i had some brown spotting one morning and some red blood the same evening. U/S that day (9W4D) was completely normal. Docotor put me on bedrest. Spotting stopped after 3-4 days, but U/S a week later showed a 3X1.3 cm subchorionic heammorhage. Red spotting started 3 days after the U/S and i am on bedrest now for at least 3 more weeks. My 12th week ends tomorrow. But the anxiety is driving me crazy. Not sure whether my condition is improving or deteriorating. And I maynot be able to take indefinite time off work as well. Anyone out there who has been in a similar situation and can tell me what to expect.

.... that sounds reassuring. Your post somehow looked like the best piece on information i read on this topic on the web. The baby was slightly bigger that the SCH even when it was discovered so perhaps thats good news.

I hope I am off the bedrest soon, though bed rest seems to help a lot with spotting. Even if i try to sit up and do very very light activity it seems to come back, so i think I'll just take some strict best rest for sometime and hope for best.

Thanks!

I had a SCH with my both my pg. With DS I had really bad bleeding and was on bedrest for 6 months (only 7 weeks of that was for the SCH though). With DD I also had some heavy bleeding but was never put on bedrest. My DD is now a happy healthy, wonderful (and a little sassy!) almost 12 year old girl, and DS is driving me nuts right now being a normal 18 month old!! (but I still love him to death!!)
Hang in there hun! When I was pg with DS I found alot of support groups for SCH's and found that they are much more common than you would think. Almost ALL the women that I met that dealt with SCH's in pg went on to have very healthy and happy babies!! Especially when they are diagnosed towards the end of the first/ begining of the second trimester. The rule that the u/s techs used to give me was once the baby is bigger than the SCH it doesn't usually cause major problems.
(((HUGS)))
I know I have pg brain and pg adhd right now... so Im aware that I have been rambling alot lately. If you have any other questions or just want to talk feel free to post or ask!!
As far as time off work... how long have you been there? You should be covered under the family medical leave act... although that might not be paid leave....

I have no advice or experiences like this, but I just wanted to say good luck with everything and I hope all turns out well!
