Was in a car accident

Hi everyone, I just wanted to let my medHelp family know that I was involved in a car accident yesterday.  I think my car is totaled although from the outside it doesnt "look" too badly hit.  I was hit from behind sitting at a shopping center opening waiting to get a subway sub to cure my craving.  I wanted that chicken teriyaki sub.

When my dh and I arrived, there was no parking available and it was raining.  He said that he would go in and get it, so I said ok.  I had to leave out of one entrance and go back onto the street and come back in the other entrance to pick him up.  As I was waiting to turn back into the entrance (I was sitting at a completely stopped position because of oncoming traffic), he slammed into me from behind and threw my vehicle into the oncoming traffic.

I was rushed to the hospital with neck brace & on the back board, but my main concern was my baby.  I was hysterical.  I was shaking uncontrollably in the rain.  I shook until about a half hour after i arrived in the trauma unit. (precautionary measure).  I currently have back pain and neck pain that they doctors say are muscular due to the jerking during impact.  They did not want to give me radiation (xrays) after checking me thoroughly because I am pregnant.  I was then taken to L&D due to vaginal pain/pressure.  I was so scared.  Our baby was fine, and I was still hungry.  Never got that sub.  Not to sure if i will want subway in the near future either.  hehe

Oh, I forgot, the worst part, is that the guy who hit me was drunk, uninsured, and had never had a license.  He was arrested on the scene.  He tried to flee, but some wonderful good Samaritans blocked his vehicle so that he couldnt leave.  What an ordeal.  Like my hubby said, it could have been worse!  He is glad that I am fine.  He is glad that our unborn son is fine.

Wow, I'm so glad you and your baby are okay!
A friend of mine was also hit by a drunk driver the week before last and it's a miracle she wasn't injured or killed. The guy who hit her was drunk AND high on meth, and hit two other cars after hitting hers. He had also come from a parking lot and hit my friend on a main road as he sped out from the parking lot.
It's crazy--you just never know who's driving out there.
I'm so glad you're okay and I hope your recovery goes well and your pain goes away.

Thank you so much.  I feel so much better now.  I am going to the doctors for a check up per the ER.  I have minimal pain in comparison to how bad it could have been, I am  counting my blessings.
