anybody gotten their first illness yet?

I know that they say sometimes pregnant women tend to get at least a cold while being pregnant.  I was wondering if anyone has gotten sick since being pregnant.  Friday around midnight I woke up practically convulsing because I was so cold yet my body itself did not feel cold. I was shivering so bad that I end up throwing up.  I got warmer clothes on and put on two comforters. In the middle of the night I woke up dying of heat and sweating.  The next morning I woke up feeling awful! I had a fever all day. It was up and down.  I did call the OB nurse and she said that I may have little bug, but as long as there were not any flu like symptoms it should pass.  I was just very concerned about the baby.

Oh a good note....I felt the baby kick on the outside of my belly today and it was very exciting.  I only wish my DH was home to feel it.  He has wanting to feel the baby for weeks now,.

I received my flu shot about a month ago and I have not felt "sick" at all.  The most I have experienced is allergy like symptoms.  I hope that everyone remains well.

Yes, last weekend was my awful weekend. Pregnant women are more susceptible to illness because our immune systems slow down to care for our babies......

I am getting the flu shot soon so I hope I dont get anything else!

Oh I hope you're feeling better soon.  My dh has a cold and I thought I was getting it, but so far so good.  Take care of yourself.

Yea I am signed up for my flu shot on the 15th of October.  I am not getting the H1N1 shot. I feel there are too many unclear side effects that go along with it, but everyone is entitled to their own decision on whether to get it or not.  Thanks for the input

Poor thing. I hope u feel better soon. I am usually pretty darn healthy through my pregnancies and I think has a lot to do with the vitamins I take when preggers. I really should take them all of the time even when not preggers. I would be much healthier I am sure.
I already got the basic flu shot and my doctor is majorly freaking out about us pregnant patients. Each one of us got a script for Tamiflu in case we come into contact or show symptoms ourselves of H1N1.  Still undecided about that shot but the doc is really pushing me to get it.   Ugh...
