How is the the pain? Please help!!!!

This is for all the experienced moms out there. I'm a first time mother, expecting on February 16.. or somewhere in there! I am very nervous and scared of what all I'm going to be going through! I have heard many stories from family members about the pain of child birth, but it all pays off in the end when you look into your baby's eyes! I feel like I will still be focused on the pain! My cousin had both of hers naturally and I know she was in some pain but she doesn't show it! So can you just explain to me how the pain was for you and if you had any pain meds and an epidural! I heard they both slow down your birth! Really wanna hear from someone who did both natural and with an epidural! Please help!!!!!!!

I have a little girl who just turned 2 & due 7 Feb. I was two weeks overdue with my daughter so they broke my water & put me on the drip & I went into labour straight away. The pain is intense but the good news is that you get a break between contractions. I only used gas & air & just kept telling myself 'this won't last forever my baby is coming'. Luckily I was in labour for 1 hr 20 mins. But being induced is apparently alot more painful than going into labour naturally. Once you are fully dialated the pain almost disappears but turns into extreme pressure. The second baby is born all the pain stops. I had stitches but didn't feel a thing. I personally didn't want an epidural as I couldn't stand the thought of not being able to move around afterwards & most importantly take a shower. The best advice I can give you is to not stress about it, you can't control how your baby will come & the pain is only a drop in the ocean of having a child. Having a toddler is so much more difficult than labour. I used hypnobirthing cds during my pregnancy & found it really helped to keep me calm & focesed. In reality it didn't help during the labour but definitely worth it to relieve stress before hand. Don't stress Mumma! It's all worth it & forgotten in a heartbeat x
