Wondering if I should take amoxicillin

I just got back from my primary and it turns out that I have a bad sinus infection.  I'll be 12 weeks on Thursday and I'm a bit apprehensive about taking Amoxicillin.  The doc prescribed 875mg twice daily for 10 days.  He says that it's relatively safe.  What does everyone think?  If I don't take it, could this cause an upper respiratory infection?

Take it. If you are too scared all you can do is try this. It is an over night thing so you will know by the next day if you are better.

Cut an onioin in half and sit it in a bowl by you as you are sleeping. The onion turns black or brown from the infection as it pulls it out of you. If there is nothing on the onion then it is not going to work. My Dh does this all the time and it works for him, and me and the kids. SOunds weird ya but neat how it has worked. The only thing is that it has not worked on viral infections we ahve noticed. Not sure why. ONly bacterial infections. Our dr could not believe how well it works:)

Hope you feel better soon! I know how you feel about medicines though, I do not take things either but when you ahve too you have too and I think it is relitivaly safer then other things they could of given you.

I am allergic to all antibiotics and can not take meds for when I get sick, but I ahve gotten a sinus infection and it never turned to a URI before.

yes take it....I had to take it several times with my last pregnancy and once with this one and it's one of the safest things to take (the only thing safer is tylenol :) ) and it's definitely better than an infection.
