hernia

Any every have a hernia while pregnant? I was complaining the baby's head was so low it was hurting - saw my dr today & it turns out it's a hernia! Grrr- at least baby sounds great (got to hear her hiccups on doplar!). Guess I'll goggle hernias until my surgery consult in 2 weeks.

hope the birth goes well and is not to painful for you! But at least it is not one of the tummy ones cause they can rupture with contractions. Best of luck to you:)

Got the surgical consult - He said they would do surgery to fix it after delivery. If it becomes a problem or very painful they are comfortable delivering any time 36 week & on.  Still going to try for a vag. delivery even though it may make it worse - he said as long as they can push the bowel back in (after delivery pushing) it's not an emergency (just NOT comfortable).  It's a femoral hernia- so not the same as the abdomen ones (what people usually get with c-section scars). What a pain!

My friend just had a baby and had one, she had to get surgery afterwards to fix it but it did not hurt the pregnancy or delivery, she did have a c-section. My mom had one after having three pregnancies in less then 2 1/2 years with twins in the middle and her stuck out way bad but she said it did not hurt anything and she just had her tubes cut out to not get pregnant again. She had 4 girls and with the c-sections so close they said she had to back then. I would think your dr woudl of told you if it was a problem, Does it hurt you? Have you had a c-section before?
