inverted nipples and breast feeding

Anyone know if inverted nipples will prevent me from breast feeding and anything that can be done to prepare?

It's one nipple that looks to me to have adhesions underneath. In cold weather it  protruded inwards. On pressing together one half goes in and the other half stays out. It also extremely hurts when I pull it out?

I see lots of moms that breastfeed successfully w/ inverted nipples, but it can be tough. (or just as easy) Quick question, when you try to press your nipple w/ your fingers, do they dimple in more? (The shells suggestion above is good, and a lot of women use a simple hand pump before the feeding to draw them out)

I used a nipple shield on my one nipple and it worked like a charm! With both my sons  and it seems I will do it this time around again.  Blessings

It will not prevent you from breast feeding.  There are a lot of products out there to assist with nursing, like a Medela brand nipple shield.  Here's an interesting article I just found with lots of info and suggestions (take out the spaces - I put them there because you know how medhelp likes to block websites):
